Email the most important
and powerfull way of marketing but should be used in the
right way. When someone sends out big numbers of e-mails
just to
anybody, especially to people who did not ask or expect it this is
called spamming. On the Internet spamming is not wanted and therefore
are build filters in e-mail providers to stop unwanted mass mail.
On the other hand there are companies who sell good lists of people
who
have opted (optin-lists) to receive commercial e-mails. Sometimes these
e-mail addresses (lists) are even separated by user groups like
profession or region etc. These lists you can buy, and then use special
software (programs) to send huge numbers of e-mails (bulkmail). But the
best way is to
build your own list.
Amother option is to propose a joint venture with someone who
already has a good list deviding the commissions, or pay to use their
list letting them send your offer to that list.
Build your
list
So the best way to get a good list of
potential clients is to build a list
yourself (optin list). This can be done by putting a form on your site
with an autoresponder function where interested people fill out their
e-mail address. A good and most
used way to get many e-mail addresses is to give away a special report
or something of value in case the visitor fills out the form to supply
his name and e-mail
address. To be sure and work professional one can
send in the first e-mail a link by which the client confirms the subscription.
This is called double opt-in. To get the most subscriptions the best
way is to use a specific page/site only to get subscriptions to your
list, a so called squeeze page or opt-in page.
Squeezepage / opt-in page
A squeezepage,also called opt-in
page is a site
with only one page and only
one function: to get the
name and e-mail adress of the visitor. After getting
the e-mail and name the visitor can be redirected to the sales site or
to a thank you for subscribing-page. In any case the only goal of the
squeeze page is to get the client added to your list.
Autoresponder
This is the program
or a (paid) service from a provider which automatically responds to the
people who filled out the form. This autoresponder you can even program
to send out at certain times several messages on different days to the
client with special offers. This

The money is in the list
The advantage of having a list is huge. This
is
because when you have a list you
can send more information of your
product or service.
It is proven that a potential client needs an average of seven times of
contact before they buy. Plus the list is a free way to
send information about other products and services anytime you want or
have a special offer. This can be your own products
or
products you like to promote/sell as an affiliate. The bigger
your list with clients who have confidence in your offers and
information, the more chance to sell. Learning how to work well with
building
and maintaining lists, and using an autoresponder are essential skills
in
online marketing! Once on your list you can
send anytime information and new offers without
any cost
to a loyable and interested public: your own carefully build and
maintainted list.
So never
abuse your list and only send
high quality information, products or recomendations.
